She was born in Nieuwstad, Holland on May 23, 1984.
She died in California on September 15, 1998

She gave our family 14 years of unconditional love. She was always cheerful and ready to play. She would continue to run after a ball long after she became tired, because she thought we were having so much fun throwing it. :)

There are many stories to tell of things she did, but I will confine myself to a few that stand out in my mind.

When she was just a puppy and we were still living in Holland, Tom was sitting in the living room one day eating a bowl of chili. Cindy picked that moment to get a little closer...(*grin) and jumped right into the middle of that bowl of chili. It was quite a mess and quite a sight.

Cindy never learned not to run away from home, and although we tried very hard to keep doors and gates closed she did occasionally disappear for a few hours. The longest "trip" she took was on the army base near Sierra Vista, AZ. After driving around for hours through the different housing areas, we noticed some people in the street and an MP truck parked nearby. When John went to investigate he found Cindy sitting elegantly on the front seat of the MP truck. The look on her face said "what's all the excitement about?".

She never liked riding in a car. On the trip from New York to Arizona in '85 she spent the whole trip with her head under her pillow. Only looking out when the car stopped. By the time we arrived in California the long hair on top of her head was one large knot. It was quite funny to watch her disappear under that pillow as soon as the car started moving. However, she didn't ask "are we there yet", and that was a blessing". *grin

I have recently brought two kittens home, and they are wonderful. No other pet will ever replace Cindy, she was unique. We will always miss her.

The following pictures were taken the day before and hours before she was put to sleep. I have included two of her grave. Those who have lost a pet will understand.
